GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration is open to grades 9-12 in Fall 2024 and graduates of the class of 2023-2024
Students entering 8th grade in Fall of 2024 with acting experience may request to audition for this show.
No prior experience required.
All students who register and are able to meet audition and rehearsal requirements will be cast.

Registration: Opens in March
Auditions: May
Rehearsals: late June and July, Monday-Friday
Performances: July 19-21, 2024

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Everyone must participate in auditions. SCCT strives to cast all eligible actors able to meet production calendar requirements.

Upon registration, actors will be asked to select an audition time slot. Actors should come to their audition prepared to perform a one-minute monologue and a one minute song that they have rehearsed at home.  Please see our Audition Tips for helpful information.

REHEARSALS

Weekly Rehearsals: Monday-Friday, 3:30-8:30 pm
Tech Week Rehearsals: Weekend prior to show and Monday-Thursday leading up to Opening Night.

FAMILY REQUIREMENTS

Two mandatory family meetings
25-30 hours of parent participation
There are a limited amount of buyouts for parent hours available for this show.

LOCATION

Mustang Hall, Central Middle School, 828 Chestnut St., San Carlos.

SYNOPSIS

It’s the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959. Boston’s Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage the entire cast & crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan! Packed with glorious tunes and a witty, charming script filled with delightful characters, CURTAINS is a hilarious journey for both performers and the audience. The Broadway production garnered 8 nominations at the 2007 Tony Awards® including Best Musical.
