GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration is open to all San Carlos School District students in grades 4-8.
No prior experience required.
All students who register and are able to meet audition and rehearsal requirements will be cast.

Main Cast: Grades 6-8
Chorus: Grades 4-5

Registration: Opens in August
Auditions: Late September
Rehearsals: October-January
Performances: January 19-21, 2024

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Grades 4-5
Chorus – No audition required

Grades 6-8
Main Cast – A one-minute monologue and a one minute song are required for the main cast audition. Please see our Audition Tips for additional audition information.

REHEARSALS

Weekly Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays after school up until Tech Week.
Tech Week Rehearsals: Weekend prior to show and Mon.-Thurs. evenings leading up to Opening Night.

FAMILY REQUIREMENTS

– Two mandatory family meetings
– 25-30 hours of parent participation
There are a limited amount of buyouts for parent hours available for this show.

SYNOPSIS

Journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.
