OLYMPUS is a laugh-out-loud rock musical where ancient myths meet modern mischief! When the Greek gods, bored with their immortal routines, launch a competition to meddle with mortals, chaos ensues—especially for a group of modern-day cousins hiking to “Olympus Overlook” who never expect to encounter divine mayhem. On the first day of class, students will receive their script, participate in a simple audition, and be assigned a role by the instructors. Each week, they’ll rehearse songs, dances, and scenes as they work together to build this roughly 45-minute show, while also desiging their own costumes and props. Along the way, students will strengthen vocal and dance technique, character development, and improvisation, while building essential life skills like teamwork, responsibility, and confidence. Class wraps up with a final performance on 3/20 packed with catchy songs, laughs, and heartfelt moments about family, connection, and sharing the view from the top together.
For a perfect pairing, the Community School of Music and Arts Belmont offers a Youth Choir class directly after this one (just a 5-minute drive away). CSMA will provide snacks to keep students fueled.
